Government Shutdown will impact VA benefits payments and claim processing.

VA benefits should come through for October, but if the shutdown lasts longer than 2 to 3 weeks, the VA will run out of cash to make payments, according to this report.

According to a CNN report, a VA spokeswoman said:

Those benefits are provided through appropriated mandatory funding, and that funding will run out by late October. At that point, VA will be unable to make any payments.
Expect the processing of your claims to take even longer as long as the shutdown continues.  Some news reports indicate that claims processing will continue -- and it will -- but don't believe for a second that it won't mean some more delay on your claims.
